Employing a multidisciplinary approach, Zahava works with texture, sound, and text to engage audiences in the embodied realities of navigating urban spaces with a physical disability. Their practice aims to challenge conventional perceptions and invite viewers into a space of discomfort and reflection, disrupting what is assumed to be known and understood. Zahava holds a BFA in Printmaking from the Tyler School of Art and Architecture (2022). Their work has been featured in Ablezine, a London-based publication focused on disability and creative expression (2020). They have participated in multiple exhibitions, including How to Read a Clock: Three Easy Steps (2022), and their senior thesis exhibition, Cemented, Stymied, held at the Stella Elkins Gallery at Tyler School of Art and Architecture in November 2022. Since graduating, their work has been included in three group exhibitions in New York City with the Static Arts Collective. Zahava has completed internships at Marquis Studios (2019) and the Center for Emerging Visual Artists (CFEVA) in Philadelphia (2021). From 2019 to 2022, they worked at Temple Contemporary as a ‘Conversationalist,’ facilitating dialogue within the gallery space. They were awarded a CARAS (Creative Arts, Research, and Scholarship) grant from Temple University to serve as a panelist on Removing Barriers in a Studio Practice, chaired by Chelsea Clarke, at the Mid America Print Council (MAPC) conference at Kent State University (Fall 2022). Currently, Zahava serves as a consultant for Tyler admissions as well as the head of the Programming Subcommittee for Tyler: Access in Art and Design, a collaborative initiative of faculty and staff working to build a more accessible and inclusive institutional environment for students with disabilities.
